Real Estate Lawyer Required

We are interested in a candidate who is eager and hardworking, detail oriented, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced workplace of a Law firm.

Some of the duties and requirements are outlined below:

  1. Expertise in use of Unity
  2. Opening and closing of real estate transactions from start to Finnish
  3. Producing documents
  4. looking after own scheduling and documenting in the calendar.
  5. Bank runs and deposits.
  6. Comfortable working paper-less, with various digital platforms.
  7. Comfortability with platforms such as Google Workspace

Qualifications and Skills:

Barrister & Solicitor and Notary Public in the Province of Ontario;

Good standing member of LSO

Minimum of 2 years experience;

Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

Computer: Word, WordPerfect, Excel, Outlook, Teraview, legal research software;

Able to multi-task and deal with significant workload

Excellent organizational skills with ability to work well under pressure;

Able to work with minimal supervision as well as part of a team;

Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills;

Demonstrates discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information and sensitive issues;

Experience in and/or exposure to private mortgages and enforcement would be an asset.

Requirements:

Excellent English language skills

Good typing speed to take notes at consultations

Great knowledge of both Mac and Windows operating softwares (in addition to Microsoft Office)

Excellent knowledge of real estate closing process and ability to work with softwares such as Unity, Teraview, Teranet and other real estate closing processes

Speaking secondary languages can be advantageous. (Speaking a second language such as Farsi can be beneficial as some of our clients also speak the language)

Additional experience/expertise in other sectors of Law such as immigration, litigation, family, etc would be an asset.
